Registered Nurse - Psychiatric (Adult)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts available:

• Days: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Evenings: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Nights: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for adult patients on a psychiatric unit, managing a variety of diagnoses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and substance abuse issues. The RN will work collaboratively with a team to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients, performing necessary assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks, room checks, and vitals as necessary.
• Provide direct observation and care for patients, including rounding every 15 minutes.
• Assist with daily living activities and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians and other nursing staff as needed.
• Implement de-escalation techniques with patients as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Active BLS certification.
• Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
• De-escalation training completion required.
