We are partnering with a leading alternative investment management firm seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on significant ownership within a sophisticated investment platform, gain exposure to senior leadership, and play a key role in the firm's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party fund administrators and ensure accurate accounting and reporting across investment funds.
• Review management fees, incentive fees, waterfall calculations, and partner allocations.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, and quarterly investor capital account statements.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements.
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers.
• Support new fund launches, fund structures, and accounting process improvements.
• Partner with the Liability Management team on liquidity management and borrowing base compliance.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations on quarterly performance reporting and investor requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 8–12+ years of accounting experience within financial services.
• Strong background in private credit, private equity, or alternative investment fund accounting preferred.
• Experience overseeing fund administrators, financial reporting, and fund-level accounting.
• Knowledge of management fees, incentive allocations, and distribution waterfalls.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Hands-on mentality with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
