Your working environment: On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers. Your challenges: 80% Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components. Conduct functional check of systems for proper function. 20% Perform normal troubleshooting to diagnose malfunction or failures on the following aircraft systems: aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant, and engine controls. Your boarding pass: Minimum of four years related aviation experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams and technical instructions. Must be able to move about in cramped and awkward positions to perform tasks. Must be able read, write, and speak English. Must be able to handle heavy components and work in areas where exposure to chemicals and fumes will occur. Physical Requirements: Onsite: 95% Vision: 100% able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing: 100% able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: 100% able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): 100% able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: 100% able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: 100% able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: 50% able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Squatting / Kneeling: 10% able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: 10% able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Travel: 80% able to travel independently and at short notice. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): 10% able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
