Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment during overnight shifts at a large manufacturing facility. You will perform general janitorial duties, including cleaning production areas, bathrooms, and common spaces, while following established procedures and infection control plans.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas using designated materials, tools, and equipment in accordance with approved procedures.

• Collect, handle, and dispose of trash and waste following established procedures and infection control plans.

• Dust and damp mop floors, ensuring all surfaces meet cleanliness and safety standards.

• Move equipment and furniture as needed to access areas for proper cleaning, and return all items to their correct positions after cleaning.

• Perform basic cleaning of bathrooms, including fixtures, floors, and high-touch surfaces.

• Clean manufacturing floors and production areas, ensuring debris and spills are promptly addressed.

• Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as break rooms, hallways, and entryways.

• Follow all safety guidelines and site-specific protocols while working in a manufacturing environment.

• Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or unusual conditions to site leadership.

• Work consistently and reliably during overnight shifts to ensure the facility is ready for use each day.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of recent janitorial experience.

• Experience with general labor, janitorial work, and cleaning tasks.

• Ability to perform basic janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.

• Experience cleaning bathrooms, manufacturing floors, and common areas.

• Ability to safely move and reposition equipment and furniture for thorough cleaning.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.

• Reliability and consistency in working overnight shifts.

• No formal education required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with using janitorial equipment and cleaning chemicals safely.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a large manufacturing plant in Fremont, working exclusively on the graveyard shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The role involves working in production areas, bathrooms, and common spaces within an industrial facility. You will report to onsite leadership and follow established site procedures and safety protocols. The environment includes typical manufacturing conditions, such as noise, machinery, and frequent movement of equipment. You will use standard janitorial tools and cleaning materials while adhering to all facility rules and guidelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
