Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Travel Physical Therapist Opportunity in Waimea, HI

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join as a traveling Physical Therapist in Waimea, HI where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life on Kauai. Primary duties include PT evaluations and treatments across inpatient (acute, ICU, SNF) and outpatient settings with emphasis on hospital-based outpatient clinic care. A full PT schedule will include a mix of inpatients and outpatients every 30–45 minutes with one-hour new evaluations, treating approximately 5–15 patients per day. You will need to obtain a Hawaii PT license as soon as possible.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active State Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment. Hawaii license required as soon as possible.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience across inpatient and outpatient settings, including acute care, ICU, SNF, and outpatient clinic environments.
• Ability to manage a full caseload with independent clinical decision making in a rural hospital setting.
• Willingness to work in ER, ICU, Med/Surg (acute, observation, SNF), and occasionally OB.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with discharge planning and mobility progression for acute-to-SNF patients.
• Prior experience in rural or island healthcare settings.

Assignment Details

• M–F 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. with a 12:00–1:00 p.m. lunch. Flexibility of work hours may occur.
• Saturday coverage required. Must be able to work Saturdays. No exceptions.
• Inpatient duties approximately 25%; outpatient duties approximately 75%.
