Registered Nurse - Simon Family Tower NICU

Full-time and part-time roles are eligible for a sign‑on bonus, amount dependent on FTE. We are looking for nurses passionate about caring for infants in the NICU who are 32 weeks gestation and older and require extended hospitalization following a Level III or IV NICU stay. These patients may need respiratory support up to CPAP, feeding tubes, or continuous monitoring of vital signs. Registered nurses on this unit will work within an interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, speech, occupational, and physical therapists, and lactation consultants. The care team develops treatment plans and implements therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s goals. Shift: Night shift only; full time or part time. Nursing Skills Gained On This Unit Performing patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and blood draws. Administering medications, therapies, and nutritional plans as prescribed by the NICU physicians. Performing or assisting with specialized procedures such as inserting intravenous lines, drawing labs, and administering tube feedings. Collaborating with the NICU team, including nurses, physicians, and APPs. Providing comfort and support to infants and their families. Assisting the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments. Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment. Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments. Comforting sick newborns and anxious parents and family members. Offering support to parents and educating them on the at‑home care of their newborn. Unit Culture Highlights High level of autonomy. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
