You are a licensed Professional Engineer with 14+ years of experience (SE licensure preferred) who has successfully delivered complex projects and built strong client relationships — and you're ready to lead at the department level. If you're ready to lead a high-performing team while protecting both quality and profitability, let's chat.Your Values: Leadership, Accountability, and Strategic VisionHow you'll spend your days:Leading and supervising Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers — building a culture of accountability and collaborationServing as active Structural Engineer of Record (SEOR) across a range of project types, including QC and constructability reviews for peers' projectsReviewing and editing project specifications and coordinating Construction Administration with the Project ManagerOwning the financial performance and profitability of all projects within your departmentDeveloping and managing department budgets, staffing plans, and utilization targetsMaking go/no-go decisions on new opportunities and assigning projects strategicallyEnsuring all projects meet established technical, quality, budget, and schedule standardsOverseeing billing, AR, and margin protection across the departmentStrengthening client relationships and pursuing repeat and new work opportunitiesImplementing department objectives aligned with firm-wide strategySupporting contract development, proposal preparation, and fee negotiation — alongside executive leadershipInvesting in your people — championing continuing education and professional growth across your teamQualificationsWhat you'll bring to the role:PE licensure and 14+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years as a Project Manager - SE licensure is a plusHands-on design experience across building types such as aviation, schools, municipal facilities, and public infrastructureProficiency with structural design software such as RAM, RISA3D, ENERCALC, TEDDS, and Revit — plus the judgment to know which tool fits which jobStrong proficiency in steel, concrete, and masonry design; wood, cold-formed steel, and post-tensioned concrete design is a plusExperience with both existing building renovation and new construction, including active airport environmentsDemonstrated success driving project profitability and department-level financial performance - including supervising and developing engineers at multiple levelsStrong understanding of budgeting, staffing, utilization metrics, and resource allocationThe confidence and presence to serve as the technical and professional leader of your disciplineStrategic thinking paired with hands-on executionExcellent communication skills and the ability to align teams around shared goalsProactive, detail-oriented approach and commitment to technical excellenceGenuine desire to train, mentor, and equip others for long-term successAdditional InformationOur team members enjoy:Salary $130,000 - $150,000 commensurate with your experience and project impactIncredible suite of benefitsHybrid work environmentOpportunity to shape the future of a respected, multi-disciplinary engineering firmGoldstone Partners is helping this growing organization find talented contributors who want to be part of an amazing team.
