Manager/AD/D of Business Development

About the Role

• As a BD professional (open at the Manager, Associate Director, or Director level, commensurate with experience), you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of ChemPartner's CRO services. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to generate new business opportunities, deepen existing client relationships, and establish ChemPartner as a preferred partner in the CRO industry.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Collaborate closely with BD colleagues, technical teams, and senior management to establish large key accounts and strengthen ChemPartner's market presence
• Achieve sales revenue targets for new and existing accounts, demonstrating exceptional deal-closing skills
• Manage and cultivate existing client relationships, fostering long-term partnerships and ensuring client satisfaction
• Utilize CRM effectively to track and manage an opportunity pipeline, providing critical insights for forecasting and decision-making
• Represent ChemPartner at industry meetings, conferences, and events, showcasing the company's expertise and capabilities
• Provide regular status and activity updates to senior management, technical leaders, and Global BD Team members, ensuring transparency and accountability
• Continuously monitor industry trends and competitive landscape, identifying potential opportunities and threats

Core Requirements

• A combination of education and/or industry experience demonstrating proficiency in scientific fields (e.g., life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals).
• Proven success in business development (BD) or sales, with trackable achievements in client acquisition, revenue growth, or target overachievement.
• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients and China-based teams on a frequent basis ; fluent English required. This language requirement is job-related and based on business necessity.
• Client-Centric Negotiation: Expertise in analyzing client needs, designing proposals, and closing complex deals.
• Strategic Execution: Ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
• Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with global clients and internal teams.
• Self-driven and adaptable to dynamic work schedules, including domestic and international travel.
• Results-oriented with resilience to deliver under pressure.
• Commitment to continuous learning and innovative problem-solving.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Contract Research Organization (CRO), biotech, or pharmaceutical business development.
• Advanced degree (e.g., PhD) or industry certifications (e.g., BD-specific training) are a plus, but not mandatory.

Level Note

This position is open to candidates at the Manager, Associate Director, or Director level, depending on experience and qualifications. Final title and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location

Boston preferred; candidates based in other U.S. locations will also be considered.
