Hybrid School Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary (Hybrid Speech-Language Pathologist, School-Based):
- Three hybrid positions available for the 2026-27 school year in Houston (North, West, and Central/Southeast areas)
- Primary focus on supervision of 2 SLPAs; minimal direct therapy caseload
- Some travel between campuses required (paid travel time)
- Key duties include:
- Conducting speech-language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Assessing students for suspected speech or language impairments
- Observing students and gathering developmental, educational, and behavioral data
- Reviewing educational records, teacher and parent input during evaluations
- Preparing evaluation reports and recommendations
- Determining eligibility for services based on state and federal guidelines
- Developing and implementing IEPs with measurable communication goals
- Participating in ARD meetings and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Monitoring student progress and updating interventions as needed
- Ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and TEA requirements
- Consulting with and supporting teachers, parents, and staff regarding communication needs
- Collaborating with special education teams and related service providers
- Recommending classroom accommodations and instructional supports
- Assisting families in understanding disorders and available services
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Texas SLP License in good standing
- Texas education credentials (per state requirements)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred; CFY candidates may be considered
- Preferred: School-based experience, experience with children/adolescents, special education background, familiarity with ARD/IEP processes
