Alarm & Suppression Inc, an Altus Fire & Life Safety Company, located in Ballston Lake, NY is looking for a Fire Alarm Project Manager to join our team! The Fire Alarm Designer/Project Manager position assists with the development of project designs, drawings, submittal documents, closeout documents, purchasing, shipping, and general project supervision. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Responsibilities- Provide design and project support to Project, Sales, and Service groups.
- Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families.
- Coordinate with other team members to accomplish required tasks while also working independently with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize assigned work based on due date.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Knowledge of basic electronics (low voltage power, circuits, relay, etc.).
- Knowledge of various electronic building systems and codes (ex; NYS Building Codes, NFPA Codes, Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, Security, Access, CCTV, Nurse Call, Intercom, Door Entry, Public Address, etc.).
- Knowledge of computers and computer applications such as Windows, MS Office, AutoCAD, Vendor Software, printers, scanners, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret building design drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- The ability to obtain a NICET (Fire Alarm) certification in a reasonable amount of time.
- Ability to attend job site visits, meetings, schools, and training as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, or attend to computer keyboard and monitor for extended times. Also, lift or carry materials which may weigh up to 30lbs
