Job DescriptionWho You AreThe Associate Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing FANUC America Corporation customers with onsite repair, troubleshooting and / or maintenance services for CNC’s and related peripheral equipment.Reporting to our Rochester Hills, MI. office, the Associate Field Service Engineer will provide support to customers in the state of Michigan with on-site repair, troubleshooting and /or maintenance services for CNC’s and related system peripheral equipment.How It's DoneProvide maintenance and troubleshooting for CNCs, servo, spindle drive and motor products. Investigate customer complaints and perform analysis to determine the cause(s). Operate with consistent support of Supervisor/ManagerActively participate in on-the-job training and classroom instructionUnderstand and promote the company goal of exceeding customer expectations while learning how to deal with customersReport quality problems to the appropriate manager/supervisor as they are encounteredControl inventory as assignedLearn service operations, procedures and policies, including timely and accurate submission of required paperworkMaintain all company-provided equipment, including toolsTravel as required within company-provided directions and guidelinesTravel to customer sites with some overnight travel Able to travel by airplane for training purposes/ meetings as neededSupervisor/Manager provides detailed instructions and screens assignments to ensure a proper match for the ServiceEngineer’s level of expertiseAppropriate diagnosis, repair and parts needs will be discussed with the Supervisor/ManagerFrequently work with a more senior-level Field Service EngineerWhat You NeedHigh School Diploma or GEDTransport equipment and parts (weighing up to 75 pounds) to customer locationsAbility to diagnose issues and effectively solve problemsAbility to evaluate, select, and adapt engineering solutions to meet application requirementsAbility to quickly learn and apply new technologies, concepts, and methodologies to remain current with industry advancementsExcellent communication skills, including written and verbal presentation of technical informationAbility to diagnose issues and effectively use diagnostic toolsFlexibility in traveling 80% - 90% to customer sitesMust have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and be able to legally operate a rental vehicle in the U.S. and Canada for business travel.What Would Be Even BetterAssociate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Mechatronics, Technical Trade School graduate and/or relevant work experience in a related field Two years of relevant experience in a technical customer support or field service environment Previous CNC exposure or experienceIt's Your MoveJoining FANUC means becoming part of a team that values your unique perspective and encourages continuous learning and collaboration.
