Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in the sales and development process by assisting in PV system design, preparing proposals, and supporting permitting and interconnection applications. The position requires a combination of technical knowledge and sales acumen to effectively communicate system designs and benefits to customers. Assist in the design and specification of photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial and residential projects. Generate detailed technical proposals, including system layouts, performance estimates, and financial analyses. Work closely with the sales team to develop customized solar energy solutions that meet customer needs and expectations. Support the preparation and submission of permitting and interconnection applications with local jurisdictions and utility companies. Utilize software tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD for system modeling and design. Conduct site assessments to evaluate project feasibility and gather necessary data. Provide technical guidance and support to customers throughout the sales process. Stay informed on industry trends, local regulations, and emerging solar technologies. Collaborate with project management and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in solar energy design, sales engineering, or a related role. Knowledge of photovoltaic system components, design principles, and installation practices. Experience with PV design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other drafting software is a plus. Familiarity with permitting and interconnection requirements for solar projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. NABCEP certification (preferred but not required).
