Staff Accountant (Contract) POST NUMBER: 04646

Vaco Los Angeles is partnering with a confidential client to identify an experienced Staff Accountant to support a major accounting clean-up initiative. This role is ideal for someone who excels in high-volume reconciliations, complex problem-solving, and stabilizing incomplete or inaccurate financial data. This contract role can pay up to $30/hr, depending on experience and will be on-site in Torrance, CA. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries • Perform month-end and year-end close activities • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules • Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP • Assist with audits and special accounting projects • Utilize NetSuite for daily accounting functions, reporting, and reconciliations Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 5 years of accounting experience • Strong experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle nice to have • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred) • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
