Compliance Privacy Advisor, Manager The Capital One Privacy Compliance team is seeking a Manager, Compliance Privacy Advisor with a passion for mitigating privacy risks at a tech-focused finance institution. The Manager will perform key privacy compliance activities on the second line of defense, manage privacy risk under applicable federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations, and support business lines to meet privacy objectives. Responsibilities Actively follow privacy trends, including the development of new privacy laws and emerging privacy risks domestically and internationally. Maintain subject matter expertise of applicable privacy laws and regulations such as FCRA, FACTA, TCPA, TSR, CAN‑SPAM, GLBA, PIPEDA, UK DPA, GDPR, FFIEC guidance, CCPA, CA SB1, COPPA. Provide guidance, advice, and effective challenge on privacy risks of business initiatives and changes, supporting business lines through interactions and forum engagements. Consult with legal counsel and other subject matter experts to address privacy compliance matters. Map legal and regulatory requirements to business processes and activities. Advise business lines on privacy requirements, control development, monitoring, remediation/corrective action for compliance breakdowns, and changes in law or regulation. Engage with compliance testing and others within the department to advise on privacy compliance matters. Review privacy-related complaints from business lines, provide remediation guidance, and consult with subject matter experts when necessary. Prepare and participate in reporting on privacy compliance activities. Travel to various Capital One locations as necessary. Willingness to work as a team player across functions and job levels. Understanding of key regulatory and audit requirements and the three lines of defense risk management framework. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or military experience. At least 3 years of experience in privacy, compliance, legal, risk management, or audit. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or Juris Doctor degree. 6+ years of experience in privacy compliance, legal, risk management, or audit. Certifications such as CIPP, CRCM, or AIGP. Compensation McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 Candidates hired for other locations will be subject to the applicable pay range for that location. The actual annualized salary offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected in the offer letter.
