Innovation Counsel - Patent Counseling and Prosecution

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Innovation Counsel for Patent Counseling and Prosecution in New York. This role involves advancing practice-specific initiatives to maximize the value of innovation technologies and practices. The position requires collaboration with various teams to drive best practices in leveraging legal technology. Duties Provide attorney-level input on legal technology adoption initiatives. Design and prepare playbooks for best practices in innovation technologies. Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings. Collaborate with leadership on initiative prioritization processes. Develop objectives and success metrics for technology adoption. Analyze practice group workflows to increase efficiency with legal technologies. Drive legal technology pilots and continuous improvements. Assist in developing communication campaigns for change management. Maintain practice group-specific resources and automate efforts. Requirements 4+ years of applicable experience in legal practice or technology adoption. Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status. Experience in cross-functional projects involving legal technology teams. Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes. Education Juris Doctorate or non-US equivalent. Certifications Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and firm applications. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve legal service delivery problems. Experience with technology usage data and metrics. Ability to build and grow business relationships.
