About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Physician Practice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day M-F Hours per Shift: 8am-5pm (1hr lunch) Experience: At least one year in an acute care or ambulatory care setting; preferred experience in outpatient setting License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: EPIC Description: The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care in the Physician Practice setting. Supports healthcare providers and office staff in the coordination and delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include triaging and care disposition of patients, clinical care, assisting providers as needed, and facilitating care transitions. Ensures adherence to regulatory and quality standards. Accountable for maintaining compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant organizational policies. Promotes a healing and supportive environment, fostering patient-centered care and continuous professional development. Job Responsibilities: Triages and assesses patients, in person and/or via telephone, utilizing appropriate protocols. Conducts patient intake including history, vital signs, and health screenings. Administers medications and immunizations as ordered. Assists providers with examinations, minor procedures, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Performs wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collection. Educates patients and their support system on treatment plans, preventative care, and follow-up instructions. Supports chronic disease management and preventative screenings. Communicates test results and care instructions to patients and/or support systems. Collaborates with the healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Documentation and Compliance: Documents all patient interactions in the Electronic Medical Record. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Department of Health, infection control standards, and organizational policies. Team Collaboration: Coordinates clinical training, orientation, and ongoing evaluation of staff. Mentors, guides, and supports Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Office Assistants. Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives. Engages in professional development activities. Attends clinical meetings and relays pertinent information to team members. Demonstrates understanding and appreciation of team roles. Facilitates effective shared decision-making. Fosters an inclusive environment. Builds a safe, trusting, supportive, and respectful learning environment.
