Try new things, learn new skills and discover what you excel at—all from Day One.Job DescriptionThe Corporate Audit Services (CAS) Senior Auditor works with limited oversight to support execution of audit engagements and other projects in a contributor or lead role depending on complexity. The Senior Auditor is expected to understand risk and risk management techniques, identify and analyze business processes, and key risks and controls. The position involves planning, executing, and reporting on a range of audit assignments.Primary Responsibilities Assist the audit team management in planning audit engagements. Includes understanding risk and risk management techniques; identifying and analyzing business processes, and key risks and controls; interviewing auditees; and evaluating control design adequacy.Perform or supervise staff auditors in the testing of controls based on audit program directions. Includes using appropriate sampling and control testing techniques; identifying and assessing the relevancy of possible issues; and documenting work performed to support audit scope/conclusions, to facilitate an efficient review, and to meet internal audit policies and procedures.Draft audit issues under the supervision of the audit team management. Includes drafting potential exposures and significance, identifying appropriate root causes, and developing recommendations that are operationally effective and cost-effective actions to address those causes.Assist the audit team management in the reporting and wrap-up phases of audits. Includes assisting with drafting audit reports.Apply feedback and coaching to improve performance and outcomes.Perform other duties as requested by management.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically more than five years of applicable experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceBasic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact mortgage originations including Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and other applicable consumer regulations. Basic understanding of mortgage loan originations, mortgage servicing operations, and investor (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA) guidelinesThorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competenciesStrong analytical, process facilitation and project management skillsEffective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsProficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentationsApplicable professional certifications*This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants. Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
