Quality Manager

Titan Florida LLC seeks a Quality Control Manager to work at the Pennsuco Complex located in Medley, Florida. This position is responsible for optimization of the quality of the Plant’s products and performance. This role will define and implement the short, medium and long-term strategies to meet our customers’ product quality requirements at optimum cost and in line with the company’s strategy and applicable standards . Responsibilitie s:• Set the Quality department goals and objectives in line with the plant objectives and applicable engineering principle s.• Ensure the safe work environment rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Quality department employees and contractor s.• Define, follow‐up and optimize the Quality department expense s.• Ensure adoption and adherence to Titan standards, norms and best practice s.• Lead and develop the Quality department processes to meet desired requirements, improve operations and promote personnel developmen t.• Supervise preparation, adoption and review of documentation of the Quality System to be in line with the Quality Assurance System (QAS ). Take all appropriate actions to ensure that production targets, customer expectations and regulatory specifications are achieve d.• Coordinate the implementation of the Quality Management System and monitor the application of the system in the plan t.• Detect, investigate, and report any deviations in the specifications of the test results for all products. Make recommendations based on finding s.• Report nonconformity and implement corrective action s.• Manage the relationships with the certification agencies regarding product certification and approva l.• Specify, commission, and qualify the new laboratory equipmen t.• Establish a quality control plan for each step of the proces s.• Establish specifications for quality of the plant’s raw materials, fuels, intermediate and finished product s.• Establish quality procedures to be followed by the plant to ensure quality at all intermediary steps of the process and monitor their implementatio n.• Assure compliance with the quality requirements listed in the contracts with customer s.• Give feedback on the opportunities for product development presented by the Business Unit Marketing & Sales and contribute to the definition of new product specification s.• Ensure that new products have established testing procedures and parameter s.• Directly supervise Lab Chemist and Cement Quality Control Supervisor and indirectly supervise 7 Process Chemists, who report to Cement Quality Control Supervisо r. Qualificatio s:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent foreign degr ee.• 7 years of experience in quality control and process in the cement production industry and supervisory/managerial experien ce.• Strong reasoning and math abiliti es.• Experience with process improvement at a cement manufacturing pla nt.• Experience with utilizing an objective approach to problem solvvi ng.• Experience assessing processes using an SPC (Statistical Process Control) approa ch.• Persuasive communication and negotiation skil ls.• Knowledge of industry standards and specifications mainly being physical and chemical testing related to ASTM C15 0).• Advanced knowledge and experience in ISO Standards: 9000 and 14000 as well as API Q1.• Advanced knowledge and experience in ISO 17025 (Auditor experience) including implementation and accreditation to organisms recognized by ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperatio n).• Experience in calculating and interpreting uncertainty according to ISO170 25.• Knowledge of cement manufacturing design, applicable engineering processes and equipme nt.• Experience in the commissioning and execution of projects related to new equipment in Cement Pla nt.• Experience in production and quality control of special cements: White Cement, Well Cements (ISO1042 6).• Experience with commonly used computer software, including MS Office Sui #J-18808-Ljbffr Titan America
