H&H Shooting Sports is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Gunsmith to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree or formal gunsmithing education, or equivalent hands-on gunsmithing experience with a degree. Candidates who have completed an online gunsmithing certification program may also be considered when combined with relevant practical experience.

The Gunsmith is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying firearms while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and attention to detail. This position also includes customer-facing and administrative responsibilities, including operating our Retail Management System (RMS) and processing customer payments.

We are looking for someone who is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to safe and professional firearm handling.

Pay is base pay plus a commission structure for cleaning, repairs, and sales. Averaging $15/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Conduct mechanical and functional inspections of firearms

·         Perform maintenance, repair, and custom modifications

·         Cut, crown, thread, and chamber barrels with accuracy

·         Fit and install new barrels, including bolt-action rifles

·         Operate lathes and milling machines

·         Perform trigger work, sight installations, and general fitting

·         Maintain accurate records of services performed using RMS system

·         Cash out customers and handle basic retail transactions

·         Communicate clearly with customers regarding services and turnaround times

·         Ensure compliance with ATF regulations and internal safety protocols

Essential Functions and Physical Requirements:

·         Use of arms, hands, and fingers for detailed mechanical work

·         Operate hand and power tools, and machine equipment

·         Stand for long periods during machining and assembly

·         Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

·         Work with RMS software to enter service orders and complete transactions

·         Interact professionally with customers in person and at the point of sale, both verbally and in writing

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Skills and Experience:

·         Degree in Gunsmithing from an accredited institution

·         Hands-on experience as a Gunsmith or as intern highly preferred

·         Proficiency in firearm mechanics, machining, and fitting

·         Familiarity with bolt-action and semi-auto platforms

·         Experience using a Retail Management System (RMS) or point-of-sale software helpful

·         Ability to interact with customers and handle transactions accurately

·         Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

·         Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience in a retail firearms or sporting goods environment

·         Knowledge of ATF compliance and firearm safety protocols
