Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Lake Elsinore, CA for a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester. The role includes performing scheduled and as-needed testing, inspection, and calibration of backflow prevention devices for a variety of properties and systems. Day-to-day tasks involve traveling to customer sites, conducting tests according to applicable codes and standards, documenting results, completing required reports and certifications, and communicating findings and recommendations to customers and management. The tester will also assist with minor repairs, coordinate with local water authorities on compliance requirements, maintain tools and testing equipment, and follow all safety protocols and company procedures. Collaboration with team members, punctual attendance, and professional interaction with customers are essential responsibilities. Qualifications Certification or licensure as a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe), with understanding of relevant plumbing codes and local regulations. Experience in plumbing, water systems, or related trades, including basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with valves, gauges, and test kits. Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills, including accurate completion of test reports, compliance documentation, and customer service notes. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory guidelines related to backflow assemblies and water distribution systems. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel to multiple job sites in the Lake Elsinore area and surrounding communities. Commitment to safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment, hazard awareness, and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards. Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain test results and recommendations in clear, respectful language. Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting equipment, working outdoors in varying weather, and accessing confined or elevated spaces as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in plumbing or water systems is a plus.
