Pre-Construction Estimator

Role Description

We are looking for a dynamic person to lead a crucial relationship between our Major Projects Team and our subcontractor base. As a Pre-Construction Low Voltage Electrical Estimator, you will be the main procurement contact for your assigned branch office, partnering directly with our Major Projects Team to develop accurate installation cost models for our projects.

• Lead the development of installation costing and the identification and selection of third-party subcontractors.
• Coordinate all operational procurement activities, ensuring compliance with BOS procedures and Delegation of Authority (DOA) requirements.
• Partner with Sales during project development phase to own Subcon Installation pricing.
• Determine Subcon Strategy and review total Project SOW.
• Utilize Estimating Tools to develop baseline Subcon Installation Pricing.
• Source all 3rd Party Sub Quotes and review Customer documents to ensure adequate provisions are in JCI contract to Subcontractors.
• Develop, host, and review all RFPs.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Estimating experience.
• Electrical industry equivalent experience (Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Estimator, Technician, or bachelor’s degree) required.
• Solid computer skills, including an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Electrical industry/installation knowledge a plus (Division 23, 25, 26, 27, and 28).
• Procurement experience with a focus on construction/Low Voltage Electrical and services.
• Experience utilizing estimating software (Procore, McCormick, Arch desk, Accubid, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Able to complete take-offs to establish BOM and ROM for project installation requirements.

• Ability to travel (10% overnight travel).

Benefits

• Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000.
