We are seeking Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians to support clinical services, treat patients, and educate students. These roles will be central to the hospital’s growing anesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, and internal medicine specialties. Reporting Structure Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians will report directly to the Veterinary Technician Manager. Required Qualifications & Salary Information Veterinary Technicians (Credentialed, evidence of passing the VTNE) Level 1\: Volunteer Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification eligible or achieved, or equivalent specialty experience. Minimum 5 years clinical experience. Probationary Rate: $29.38/hour Job Rate: $30.02/hour Max Rate: $30.68/hour Hourly rates effective 7/1/25 per collective bargaining agreement. Employees must have 4+ years applicable experience to be hired above the probationary rate. Experience & Skills Requirements Active, current Veterinary Technician License (CVT, LVT, RVT). VTS, Anesthesia & Analgesia or VTS eligible. Experience in anesthesia and surgical assisting, post‑operative care. Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I‑V. Knowledge of ventilator use. Preparation of animals and instruments for surgery. Ability to obtain and interpret basic ECG, SpO₂, and EtCO₂. Preferred Experience & Skills Requirements Excellent problem‑solving abilities. Strong attention to detail. Observation of behavior and condition of animals. Provision of superior nursing care or emergency first aid. Comfortable with digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment. Working Conditions Hazards Slips, trips, and falls; unpleasant odors, noises, animal feces and urine; risk of bites, kicks, or scratches from frightened or in‑pain animals. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous drugs, radiation, toxic waste, disinfectants, pesticides, latex.
