Human Resources Manager

Job Purpose: The HR Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and ensuring consistent and effective HR support across all locations. This position supervises and develops assigned HR team members and serves as a trusted resource to managers and employees throughout the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, retention, employee development, succession planning, and workforce planning. The HR Manager works closely with managers to address workforce needs, strengthen leadership capabilities, and maintain a positive workplace culture aligned with The Dupps Way: Respect, Accountability, Connection, and Appreciation. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources. Duties/Responsibilities: Lead the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including supervising, coaching, and developing HR employees; establishing priorities and expectations; monitoring performance; and ensuring HR responsibilities are completed accurately and on time. Serve as a primary resource to managers and employees regarding workplace concerns, policies, attendance, performance, corrective action, and employee relations; conduct workplace investigations and coach managers through difficult employee situations. Oversee recruiting and hiring activities for all operations, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, selection, offers, pre-employment requirements, recruiting metrics, and partnerships with schools and community organizations. Support employee retention and development by coordinating career planning, succession planning, workforce planning, training initiatives, internal advancement opportunities, and skilled-trades apprenticeship programs. Manage performance-management processes, including mid-year and annual reviews, performance improvement plans, employee development plans, manager coaching, documentation, and support for compensation and merit-review activities. Oversee HR operations and compliance, including onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, benefits and payroll coordination, employee records, HR systems, policies, handbook updates, audits, HR metrics, and compliance with applicable employment laws; support the Director of Human Resources in implementing organizational HR strategies and other assigned initiatives. Skills: Strong leadership, team-development, and manager-coaching skills. Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization. Consistent, fair, approachable, and accountable leadership style with the ability to address difficult employee situations professionally. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance strategic initiatives and daily operational responsibilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems, with the ability to travel periodically to other U.S. locations as business needs require. Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required. Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience required. Previous experience supervising or leading HR employees strongly preferred. Experience supporting multiple locations or business operations preferred. Manufacturing or skilled-trades HR experience strongly preferred. Experience with employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and manager coaching required. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
