Director of SafetyShaw Construction is a Colorado-based general contractor specializing in multifamily and workforce housing projects across the Front Range, Western Slope, and mountain markets. We're looking for a driven, experienced Safety Manager to lead and grow our company-wide safety program.About the RoleThis is a hands-on, field-facing position responsible for planning, implementing, and managing safety programs that protect our people and reduce risk across all active projects. You'll work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and subcontractors to build a strong safety culture at Shaw.What You'll DoDevelop and administer Shaw's safety program, including Hazard Communication and Chemical Inventory oversightConduct preconstruction planning and Job Hazard Analysis for all projectsReview subcontractor safety plans and assist in prequalification effortsPerform site safety audits alongside our outside Safety Consultant and/or insurance carrier representativesLead OSHA investigations and formal site visits as neededDevelop "lessons learned" from inspections and incorporate into ongoing trainingCoordinate and deliver safety orientation and training programs company-wideEnsure all employees are issued appropriate PPE at onboardingCompile quarterly and annual safety compliance reports for senior leadershipInvestigate and report Workers' Compensation and insurance claimsAssist project teams with Storm Water Management and complianceAdminister the motor vehicle record check program in partnership with our Corporate Resource ManagerOversee project-assigned safety personnel in collaboration with on-site PMs and SuperintendentsTravelThis role requires approximately 30% travel per month to visit project sites across Colorado and surrounding markets.What You Bring4-year degree in Safety & Health or equivalent (preferred), plus 3+ years of safety experience in building construction-or a strong combination of education and field experienceWorking knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniquesStrong leadership, communication, and training skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility to plan and schedule company-wide training, inspections, and related activitiesPhysical ability to access active construction sites (climbing ladders, stairs, hoists; lifting up to 75 lbs)CertificationsOSHA 30 (required) | Goal: OSHA 500Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)Certified Hazardous Materials ManagerWhy ShawAt Shaw, you'll join a collaborative, team-first culture where people genuinely look out for each other — on the jobsite and in the office.
