Construction Accounting / Payroll Assistant
Location: Selma, CA
Pay: $18.00-$24.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time


We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Construction Accounting / Payroll Assistant to support the owner of a local construction-based company in Selma, CA. This position will assist with day-to-day accounting and payroll functions, with an immediate focus on helping the company get caught up and organized with job costing, timecard entry, and payroll-related records .


This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping records organized, and working directly with a business owner in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities

• Assist the owner with daily accounting and administrative tasks
  
  
• Enter and maintain employee timecards accurately
  
  
• Assist with processing payroll
  
  
• Calculate and process payroll taxes and related payroll reporting
  
  
• Update and maintain job costing records for construction projects
  
  
• Review labor hours and costs to ensure they are assigned to the correct jobs
  
  
• Assist with catching up outstanding accounting and job-costing entries
  
  
• Maintain accurate payroll and accounting documentation
  
  
• Research and correct discrepancies as needed
  
  
• Perform data entry and other accounting support duties
  
  
• Assist the owner with additional administrative projects as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience with payroll, bookkeeping, accounting support, or job costing
  
  
• Strong data-entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  
  
• Comfortable working with timecards, payroll records, and financial information
  
  
• Ability to organize and catch up backlogged accounting records
  
  
• Construction accounting or job-costing experience is highly preferred
  
  
• Experience with Foundation construction accounting software is a major plus
  
  
• QuickBooks or similar accounting software experience is helpful
  
  
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
  
  
• Comfortable working directly with the company owner and handling confidential information

Software
The company uses Foundation , a construction-specific accounting and job-costing system similar to QuickBooks. Previous Foundation experience is preferred, but candidates with strong construction accounting, payroll, or comparable software experience are encouraged to apply.


Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
