Medical Laboratory Technician

Accurate, timely laboratory results guide critical decisions at the bedside. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will deliver precise testing that clinicians rely on while supporting high-quality patient care.

Performance Objectives

• Complete routine and specialized testing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis and blood bank support with 99%+ accuracy and turnaround times that meet or exceed departmental standards.
• Process, analyze and verify specimens while maintaining specimen integrity and immediately documenting critical values to the care team.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot analyzers; perform daily QC, calibrations and minor repairs to keep instruments in service and CAP/CLIA-ready.
• Cross-train across laboratory sections within 90 days and support new-method validation to help maintain a flexible, fully staffed laboratory.
• Enter, calculate and release results in the Laboratory Information System with zero transcription errors and full audit-trail compliance.
• Adapt procedures to pediatric, geriatric and culturally diverse patient populations.

Environment & Resources

You will join a high-volume hospital laboratory team reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor/Manager. You will work with modern automated analyzers, a robust LIS and established QC programs. Continuing-education resources and competency development are provided. Essential Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent CLIA-qualifying education.
• MLT (ASCP), AMT, AAB or equivalent certification, or eligibility with completion within 12 months.
• Current state licensure where required, or the ability to obtain prior to start.
• Ability to perform waived, moderate and high-complexity testing with attention to age-specific specimen volumes.
• Proficiency with LIS, QC protocols and instrument maintenance.
• Willingness to cross-train across laboratory sections.
• Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, integrity and patient care.
