Operating on a predictable daytime schedule, the incoming practitioner will deliver essential diagnostic, preventative, restorative, and surgical dental treatments. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive oral examinations, diagnostic assessments, and radiographic interpretations for the institutional resident population. Formulate objective, individualized dental treatment plans while maintaining meticulous clinical documentation within the facility’s electronic health records (EHR). Collaborate effectively with on‑site multidisciplinary staff, including dental assistants, clinic administrators, medical personnel, and correctional security officers to ensure a safe, efficient care environment. Qualifications & Requirements Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental school. Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or eligibility to quickly obtain a temporary institutional license). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification. Ability to successfully clear a comprehensive state background check, drug screening, and facility safety/security vetting. Strong interpersonal communication skills, excellent clinical judgment, and a commitment to safe, objective, and trauma‑informed patient care within a secure setting.
