Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. IA manages the project team (user agencies/owner, architect, contractor) and the overall process required to successfully plan, procure, design and construct projects. IA provides project management services to numerous City agencies and departments to ensure their project needs are met. Projects managed by this team range from capital/deferred maintenance to ground-up new buildings.The IA team is seeking a Project Manager I with vertical design, construction and planning experience to focus on project delivery for our Customer Agencies which include Denver Parks and Recreation, Denver Arts and Venues, Denver Public Libraries, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Denver Safety Department, Denver Division of Real Estate, Housing Stability, Climate Action Sustainability & Resiliency and more. Potential project types may include master planning, space planning, design and construction of new buildings, interior and exterior renovations at existing facilities, and building system renovations at existing buildings, etc. As a project manager for the IA team, you will facilitate the procurement and management of design teams, oversee bidding and manage contractors to implement work for our Customer Agencies throughout the City.Specifically, as a Project Manager I, you will:* Manage high‐profile projects with unique budget, schedule, and political considerations.* Create, analyze, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash‐flow analyses aligned with defined scopes of work.* Understand and manage contractual obligations for professional and construction services supporting Interagency projects.* Monitor contractor progress to ensure adherence to overall project schedules and defined performance measures.* Prepare and communicate project status reports, including risks and mitigation strategies, to key stakeholders.* Monitor budgets across planning, design, regulatory, and construction phases to keep deliverables on‐time, on‐target, and on‐budget.* Interact with utility companies, City agencies, and other governmental entities to secure permits, clearances, and regulatory compliance.* Utilize technical writing and presentation skills to demonstrate trends across market, agency, work type, and contract data.* Share lessons learned, mentor team members, and identify innovations to improve project and team performance.* Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), openness to learning new City project‐management software, and apply emotional intelligence in the work environment.**What You’ll Bring**Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:* Three (3) or more years of professional project management experience in commercial, institutional and/or municipal/governmental work as an owner's representative, construction project manager or as a design project manager.* Experience managing complex projects with high dollar values and with minimal guidance or oversight.* Experience communicating amenably with project teams in a challenging and diverse environment.* A passion for mentoring peers through positive interpersonal interactions.* Ability to follow strict and ethical policies and procedures that guide municipal project delivery work.**Required Minimum Qualifications*** Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.* Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of professional project management experience in the related occupational group including coordinating, administering, and monitoring projects.* Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
