About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hours varied shifts + call Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong CVOR experience and confidence in skills Description: Unit conducts a profile review and interviews candidates. Two supervisor references needed at submission. One reference must be within 12 months and one within 3 years of employment. Position requires scrubbing in the CVOR. Shifts are adjusted with on-call responsibilities if cases run long. Schedules are posted for two pay periods and adjusted as needed. Candidates are expected to cover three shifts on weekends per month. Rotation for weekend and holiday shifts will align with core staff. Nurse aides and CSTs will be available in the operating room. Candidates must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Ventilator experience is not required for this role. Surgeons are available 24/7 during regular hours. There will be overnight call once a week. Staff is required to cover three weekend days a month. The facility is fast-paced and busy. Candidates should have strong confidence in their CVOR skills. Cancellations can occur up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is done via a designated electronic health record system.
