Distribution Designer

Distribution Designer – Joint Use ExecuPOWER is seeking a Distribution Designer – Joint Use to join our growing Distribution Engineering team. This position supports electric utility clients by designing, coordinating, and managing Joint Use projects involving pole attachments, make‑ready engineering, telecommunications providers, and electric distribution infrastructure. The role can be fully remote for qualified candidates or hybrid for those located near our corporate headquarters in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities Joint Use & Distribution Design Design overhead electric distribution facilities to accommodate telecommunications and third‑party attachments. Prepare make‑ready engineering packages for Joint Use construction projects. Develop construction drawings, design packages, staking sheets, and supporting documentation. Interpret utility construction standards and apply NESC requirements to engineering designs. Coordinate pole attachment requests and evaluate existing utility infrastructure. Support residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial distribution projects. Project Coordination Manage multiple Joint Use projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and project milestones. Coordinate with utility clients, telecommunications providers, municipalities, contractors, and internal engineering teams. Track project progress from engineering through construction and closeout. Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and status updates. Compliance & Quality Ensure all designs comply with utility standards, NESC requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain quality documentation within utility asset management systems. Support storm restoration efforts and emergency response activities when required. Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, Drafting, Applied Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent utility industry experience. 2+ years of experience in: Joint Use Design Electric Distribution Design Utility Engineering Utility Construction Pole Attachment Programs Experience interpreting utility construction standards and engineering drawings. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to client sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience with any of the following: Joint Use Engineering, Pole Attachment Programs, Make‑Ready Design, NESC, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, O-Calc Pro, SPIDAcalc, Pole Foreman, DDS, SAP, CREWS, Utility Asset Management Systems, Electric Distribution Planning, Utility Permitting.
