Funeral Services Assistant (part-time)

This position provides clerical and administrative assistance supporting funeral operations. Job Responsibilities Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families. Ensure proper care and storage of all items. Prepare documents related to services, cremations and maintenance as directed by management. Assist with respectful preparation of remains of deceased, including dressing and lifting the deceased, or operation of crematory where permitted by law and company regulations. Perform office duties such as answering phones, operating the fax machine, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale. Run errands including floral delivery and picking up of supplies and documents. Serve as an usher and may park cars or perform any transportation requirements. Drive Funeral Home vehicles for services and pick up families. Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law. Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services, including visitation and chapel set‑up. Deliver family items and flowers. Greets and receives client families and other persons entering the office for information and assistance. Accommodate the needs of the family during a service and/or visitation. May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required from time to time. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred. Proficiency with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required. Certification / Licenses Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High level of compassion and integrity.
