Responsibilities Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients, providing physical therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. Assist patients to reach maximum performance and level of function while learning to live within their capabilities. Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and therapy techs, including orienting staff and assuming supervisory duties in their absence. Assess patient needs, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to maintain professional standards. Observe and evaluate treatment outcomes, recommending changes to physician as needed. Perform assessments and reassessments, complete accurate and timely QI scoring, and document patient progress. Formulate and update patient‑specific plans of care and report progress and discharge barriers at patient‑team conferences. Provide patient education, evaluate effectiveness, and involve family when appropriate. Ensure patient safety and reduce likelihood of medical errors. Qualifications and Requirements Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where the hospital is located. Inpatient rehab experience preferred. Current BLS/CPR certification.
