$90 an hour $42,130 in 13 weeks! Austin, Texas Job Summary: The Pediatric Surgery Nurse is responsible for providing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role involves working closely with the surgical team, coordinating patient care, and ensuring that patients receive safe and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Administer medications and fluids as prescribed
• Prepare patients for surgery, including preoperative procedures such as inserting IV lines and preparing the surgical site
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, providing any necessary instruments and equipment
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in a patient's condition
• Document patient care and communicate with other healthcare providers regarding the patient's status
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and any necessary follow-up appointments
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the surgical process

Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, with at least 2 years in pediatric surgery

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
