Sous Chef

Wildly successful steak & seafood restaurant is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the team! This is a high-volume operation that demands exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. With established systems and standards already in place, the Sous Chef will focus on ensuring the consistent execution of the restaurant’s high standards while supporting the team through service.

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

• Ensures all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
• Assist in proper ordering, receiving, and inventory
• Collaborate with and support the culinary management team
• Provide exemplary hands-on leadership to the team, including coaching and mentorship
• Maintain a positive work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 
• Follow best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen to assure compliance with local health department and company standards

Sous Chef Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in high-volume restaurant (or similar experience as Chef de Cuisine, Kitchen Manager or Executive Sous Chef) and 6 years of cooking experience 
• High volume experience (establishments doing 300 covers a night++) required
• Past steakhouse experience is a plus, including grill or broiler cook experience 
• Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation includes:

• Base salary in the $85-$90k range
• Bonus structure
