The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and increasing company sales primarily through outbound telephone calls, email communication, and other remote sales activities. The primary focus of this position is to identify prospective customers, establish new business relationships, promote company products and services, and convert sales opportunities into active customer accounts.

This position requires a proactive and results-driven individual who is comfortable prospecting for new customers, making cold calls, developing sales leads, overcoming objections, and consistently following up with prospective customers to gain new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Make outbound sales calls to prospective customers to generate new business.
• Identify and research potential customers within assigned markets or territories.
• Prospect for new customers through cold calling, referrals, leads, internet research, and other approved methods.
• Introduce the company, its products, and services to prospective customers.
• Develop new customer relationships and convert prospects into active accounts.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Follow up consistently with prospective customers to develop sales opportunities and close business.
• Generate and qualify sales leads and maintain an active pipeline of prospective customers.
• Contact inactive customers to identify opportunities to regain their business.
• Present product information, pricing, promotions, and new product offerings.
• Prepare and communicate quotes and other sales information to prospective customers.
• Negotiate within established company pricing and sales guidelines.
• Work toward established sales, new-account, call-volume, and revenue goals.
• Cross-sell and upsell products when appropriate to increase account sales.
• Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, customer contacts, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
• Document calls and maintain current customer and prospect information in company systems.
• Monitor outstanding leads and ensure timely and consistent follow-up.
• Develop knowledge of company products, competitors, customers, and market conditions.
• Communicate potential sales opportunities, customer feedback, and market information to management.
• Coordinate with customer service, purchasing, accounting, warehouse, and other departments as necessary to establish and support new customer accounts.
• Maintain professional and courteous communication when representing the company.
• Protect confidential company, customer, pricing, and business information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
