About the Role:

Latuli is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Houston, TX! Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, menu development, and food preparation

Supervise, train, and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality

Oversee food production, plating standards, and presentation to maintain culinary excellence

Monitor food inventory, manage ordering, and minimize waste through proper stock rotation

Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations

Step in as acting head of the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence

Collaborate on seasonal menu planning and new recipe development

Requirements:

2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a professional kitchen

Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and modern cooking methods

Proven leadership and team management skills in a high-volume kitchen environment

Solid understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and kitchen operations

ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler's certification preferred

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is a plus
