Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Job Overview Job Type: Full-Time Travel: Must be willing to travel throughout the Tampa area. Aviata Health Group is searching for a highly motivated, flexible, organized, skilled respiratory therapist with experience in a rehab center and strong communication skills. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. As a Post Acute and Long‑Term Care respiratory therapist, you will provide specialized care and treatment to patients with cardio‑pulmonary, respiratory conditions, neurological disorders, and other conditions that affect respiration over an extended period. Your primary responsibilities include assessing patients, providing diagnostic testing, developing treatment plans, and delivering treatment to our Skilled Nursing Facility population. Job Responsibilities Provides patient treatments that meet patient needs and use current treatment knowledge in accordance with facility clinical procedures. Perform accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations. Develop an effective plan of treatment and obtain appropriate approvals from a referring physician. Communicate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans. Instruct patients’ families and/or nursing staff in specified follow‑through programs. Interview patients and families about previous level of functioning, lifestyle and current and future expectations for recovery. Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate resources for problem‑solving and clinical best practice. Evaluate patients within the required timeframe as per facility policies. Provide patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licensure or certification is held. Write accurate, complete, and clear documentation in accordance with the facility’s regulatory, licensing, payor, and accrediting requirements. Consistently demonstrate facility interdisciplinary approach to patient care, integrating findings and input from the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families. Contribute to professional development of self and build the facility’s reputation as an unparalleled respiratory therapy provider as a professional member of the staff. Demonstrate safe working practices. Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of the respiratory community and medical terminology. Knowledge of respiratory disease and diseases that affect the respiratory system. Ability to use respiratory therapy equipment. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in devising, installing and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, or procedures. Ability to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and officials of other departments. Program development and implementation. Management and administration of therapies as prescribed by a physician and according to standard procedure. Preferred experience with cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation. Education and License Requirements Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy preferred. Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required.
