Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, specializing in the care of neonates and adults. This role is vital for supporting mothers during the childbirth process and ensuring the health and well-being of newborns.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing nursing care in the 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit.
• Engaging in inpatient rooming with infants, ensuring that all newborns remain with their mothers.
• Utilizing the Omnicell medication system for medication administration.
• Communicating using the SBAR method to enhance patient care and safety.
• Managing care for both neonates and adults within the unit.

This position requires night shifts, with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Qualifications include:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Certifications: ACLS (Required), AWHONN Advanced (Preferred), AWHONN Beginner (Required), AWHONN Intermediate (Preferred), BLS (Required), NRP (Required)
• First-timers will be screened for experience and may be accepted.

This position does not require charge nurse responsibilities.
