SALARY

The minimum salary is $21.168 per hour

This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.

Pay Grade 515

This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced skilled and semi-skilled labor tasks to maintain, repair, and improve streets, roads, and related public infrastructure in areas such as asphalt and concrete.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Two (2) years of related experience
• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs complex manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, patching roads, installing and repairing curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and drainage systems
• Maintains, services, and conducts repairs on buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds
• Operates trucks and assorted power equipment and tools required for road and infrastructure maintenance
• Participate in traffic control setup and maintenance during construction and repair activities to safeguard workers and the public
• Create and maintain documentation of all work performed and all repairs completed
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs such as snow removal, storm damage, and road hazards
• Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned, special events, snow removal and during emergencies.
• All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
