About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President for Hospital and Health System Contracting in California. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the full scope of hospital and institutional provider strategy, negotiations, and relationship management across the state. This role is pivotal in architecting the company's hospital contracting strategy, with a focus on Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid lines of business. The SVP will be a key leader in the organization, requiring exceptional strategic, operational, and relationship-building capabilities, particularly in the areas of complex payer-provider negotiations and value-based care models. The position demands a deep understanding of risk-bearing entities, utilization management, and a proven track record in negotiating complex provider contracts. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in hospital or institutional contracting within a health plan, with at least 5 years in capitation and risk-based contracting. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team. The SVP will also be responsible for market engagement, performance monitoring, and ensuring the alignment of hospital contracts with the company's strategic objectives. Preferred qualifications include experience in medical group or IPA settings, established relationships with hospital systems in Southern California, and a strong background in financial acumen and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will have exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to influence within a complex, matrixed organization.
