LVN / LPN - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Medical Surgical units. This position involves providing patient care within a complex acute care environment, following established protocols and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies, including PICC line management and peripheral line care.
• Monitor patients utilizing telemetry, oxygen therapy, and Trach care, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Manage wound care, including wound vac application and surgical drain management.
• Collaborate with RNs to support patient assessments, documentation, and timely response to clinical changes.
• Float across assigned units, demonstrating flexibility within skillset, and adhere to unit protocols.
• Complete charting in EPIC and participate in rapid response, code team activations, and isolation precautions.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active New York Single State LPN license; NY is not a compact state.
• Possess at least one year of recent acute care clinical experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in blood product administration, IV therapy, and wound care procedures.
• BLS certification is required.
• Be able to work night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for a 13-week contract.
• Flexibility to work every other holiday and weekends as scheduled.
