Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Medical-Surgical

Location: Rochester, NY
Job Type: 13-Week Contract | Travel Assignment
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts/week | 36 Hours/Week

We are seeking an adaptable and skilled LPN/LVN to support a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry overflow unit in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and collaboration with RNs and physicians to deliver quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient admissions and monitor vital signs and blood glucose levels
• Follow infection control and isolation precautions
• Communicate patient changes promptly using SBAR and verbal reporting
• Administer oral, IM, SQ, ear, and eye medications safely
• Provide care and management for feeding tubes, NG tubes, and G-tubes
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and support oxygen administration
• Assist patients with hygiene, bathing, and ambulation needs
• Collaborate with nursing and physician teams to support patient outcomes
• Float to general Med/Surg areas as required

Requirements:

• Active New York State LPN/LVN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Active BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
• Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Emergency Department experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• First-time travelers welcome

Schedule Notes:
Every Other Weekend (EOW) coverage required. Minimal Requested Time Off (RTO) preferred. On-call may be required based on staffing needs.

Dress Code: Navy Blue or White Scrubs
