Bar Back

Bar Back Position

The Bar Back will work with the bartenders and interact one-on-one with guests dining at the bar. Service will include assisting bartenders, polishing glassware, filling ice wells, stocking liquor bottles, preparing cocktail garnishes and juices. The Bar Back will also anticipate and monitoring guest's needs to ensure satisfaction. This includes presenting menus, greeting guests, offering water, and keeping all areas of the bar clean and immaculate. The Bar Back will maintain top-level product knowledge, knowing all aspects of the menu and beverage offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
• Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
• Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs, or changing out kegs, if needed
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes
• Taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, opening tabs, and processing payments especially during peak hours.
• Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
• Attend to customers upon entrance
• Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
• Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
• Maintain confidentiality of all members and club information
• Follows grooming and uniform standards established for this role
• Working as a team, effectively communicating with management and co-workers
• Ensure that member and associates areas are maintained in a safe and secure environment
• Always being positive, showing enthusiasm, being humble, being thankful, and being respectful to all team members
• Performs all other duties as directed by immediate

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of fine dining, high-volume restaurant experience, preferably bar support.
• Experience with set up and break down of bars.
• Hands-on experience in cashier duties
• Attention to cleanliness and safety
• Patience and customer-oriented approach
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
• Responsible and trustworthy
• High school diploma is a plus but not required
• Punctuality and regular attendance
• Must be dependable and available to work within the club on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
• Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated
