Phlebotomy Supervisor

Labcorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions. This role is for a Phlebotomy Supervisor in Berkeley, CA. Work Schedule : Monday – Friday hours vary between 6am – 6pm; weekend hours may be required as needed. Responsibilities Supervise a team of 20-35 phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physicians’ offices in the Berkeley area. Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs. Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations as necessary. Coordinate phlebotomists’ schedules through creative resource planning. Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly scheduling, and performance appraisals. Partner with Human Resources on employee relations issues and disciplinary actions. Hire and train phlebotomists to fill open positions. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers—including patients, client office staff, the sales team, logistics, and senior management. Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients. Assist in setting up new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices. Resolve any patient or client issues. Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed. Travel to additional sites as necessary. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid California State‑issued Phlebotomy License. At least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree. 3+ years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical/hospital environment. 2+ years of experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric to geriatric). 3+ years of phlebotomy managerial, supervisory, or team‑leader experience. Additional Job Standards Pass a standardized color blindness test. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Exceptional customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. At least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean driving record. Pay Range $32.00 – $45.42 per hour.
