Restaurant General Manager

Role Description The Restaurant General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Somerville, MA, responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations. This role manages front-of-house and back-of-house activities, including staff scheduling, service standards, and coordination with kitchen and bar teams to ensure efficient, guest-focused service. The General Manager maintains financial controls, monitors sales performance, and implements strategies to optimize profitability and cost management. Responsibilities include supervising hiring and training, Advertising and marketing, coaching team members, enforcing health and safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policies. The role also involves building strong relationships with guests, addressing service issues, managing vendor partnerships, and contributing to local marketing initiatives to grow traffic and enhance the restaurant’s reputation. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in P&L Management and Budgeting, with the ability to analyze financial reports, control costs, and drive revenue growth. Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with experience in creating consistent, high-quality guest experiences and resolving issues promptly. Proven track record in Hiring, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing diverse, high-performing restaurant teams. Experience in restaurant advertising and marketng Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory control, vendor management, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Effective leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to motivate staff and foster a respectful, inclusive workplace culture. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritize multiple operational needs in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with using POS systems, basic office software, and operational reporting tools to support decision-making. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for full-time on-site management.
