ASSISTANT HEAD OF SCHOOL - SPECIAL ED – PK-8 TH GRADE

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan independent school who is seeking an experienced Assistant Head of School, for PK-8th grade. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills, able to manage a staff and practices good judgement and discretion.

You will be reporting directly to the Head of School.

Salary - $135,000-$175,000 DOE

· This is a 12-month program

· Benefits include: Dental, health and vision insurance, 401(k)

Hours – Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Responsibilities for the Assistant Head of School:

·       Working knowledge of IEPs

·       Supervise daily teaching and operations, and will organize professional development for head teachers and instructors

·       Coordinate all student support and all special education services and programs

·       Help develop and monitor school policy and administrative regulations

·       Other responsibilities will be discussed during interview

Requirements for the Assistant Head of School :

·       Master’s Degree in Education or related field

·       Must be NYS certified in Special Education

·       Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a K-12 educational setting

·       Minimum of 3 years of special education experience in an educational setting

·       Must have 5-7 years’ experience as a school leader or administrator

·       Self-contained classroom experience a plus

·       ABA trained highly preferred

·       Experience with budget preparation and implementation

·       Able to provide 3 job related references
