About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Nursing Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (additional certifications may be obtained on-site) Must-Have: Comfort with direct and indirect patient care. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively. Solid written and oral communication skills. Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels. Experience reading telemetry strips. Skills related to chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drain management, and PCA pumps. Understanding of medication management for specific drugs like Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, and Heparin. Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele position available. The unit has 26 beds focusing on general medicine and behavioral health diagnoses. Patient types include diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal problems, wounds, and observation cases. Average length of stay goal is less than 24 hours. Patient ratios are 1:6 for general medicine and 1:5 for behavioral health. CNA duties include basic nursing care and assistance to RNs. Support personnel includes reception staff, charge nurses, a phlebotomy team, and a rapid response team available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is centralized. Use of technology includes an electronic medical record system and various medical equipment. Unit culture emphasizes patient-centered care and strong teamwork.
