Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Asheville, NC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Description: The ICU Registered Nurse provides high-quality care to critically ill patients, working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on acute interventions and monitoring. The position requires proficiency in various advanced nursing skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, ensuring timely intervention as required.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders and protocols.
• Assist with procedures such as central line insertions, cardioversions, and more.
• Manage advanced equipment including ventilators, telemetry, and IV pumps.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner documentation system.
• Offer support and education to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• ICU experience is required.
• Must have experience with titration of vesicant medications, use of pressors, sedation, paralytics, and ventilators.
• Familiarity with telemetry interpretation, hemodynamics, and PA catheter setup and interpretation.
• Advanced skills in IABP, Impella, and CRRT procedures are appreciated.
• No specific certifications are required; CCRN is recommended.
