Construction Litigation Paralegal

Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Florida’s largest full-service civil litigation firm, continues to grow and is currently seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal for its Tampa office. Qualified candidates must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP), or hold a paralegal degree or certificate from an ABA-approved program. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant paralegal experience, with a strong background in insurance defense litigation and Florida construction disputes. Ideal applicants will be knowledgeable in all phases of Florida construction defect claims, torts, contractual issues, and other construction‑related matters. Trial experience is a plus. Prior billing experience is preferred; all candidates must bill their time contemporaneously in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines. Responsibilities Assisting attorneys in case management from inception through trial Organizing, analyzing, and reviewing court documents and case materials Coordinating discovery and preparing related responses and documentation Conducting legal research as needed Preparing subpoenas, exhibits, trial binders, and other pre‑trial materials Accurately and timely entering billable time on a daily basis Requirements Minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience and strong familiarity with Florida construction disputes Insurance defense background preferred Prior billing experience with contemporaneous time entry required Must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP) Strong understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and e‑filing procedures Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Health, dental, and vision insurance 20 days PTO annually Life insurance Short‑ and long‑term disability coverage Additional ancillary benefits Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
