Scientist II - Clinical Genomics

Scientist II – Clinical Genomics Labcorp is seeking an initiative-taking and technically skilled Assay Development and Validation Scientist to join our clinical genomics laboratory in Iselin, NJ. This role is heavily focused on hands‑on laboratory work, technical execution of complex R&D experiments, design and execution of validation studies, and continuous improvement of existing assays and workflows. Responsibilities Perform technical execution of complex R&D experiments. Design and execute validation studies. Continuously improve assays and workflows. Prepare validation plans, reports, and SOPs. Analyze data, solve problems, and design experiments. Communicate and collaborate across cross‑functional teams. Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry or Bachelor of Science degree with 4 or more years of experience in a clinical, diagnostic, or GMP‑regulated laboratory. 1 or more years of experience with Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and workflows. 1 or more years of experience with genetic testing methodologies (PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, microarrays, or library preparation techniques). Preferred Qualifications 1 or more years of experience with assay validation, method comparison, and performance qualification studies in a regulated environment (CLIA, CAP, or GMP). 1 or more years of experience supporting assay transfer, scale‑up, or commercialization efforts. Additional Skills and Standards Exceptional technical writing skills, experience preparing validation plans, reports, and SOPs. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and experiment‑design skills. High attention to detail, quality, and regulatory compliance. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams. Pay Range $90,000 – $129,000 annual (USD).
